Laura Milkins, a performance artist and my client, required a website for documenting her project, "In Search of the Great America" where she traveled to ask people to define their ideal America: past, present and future. This project came to fruition during a time when our nation is experiencing divisive political frustration. She wanted to interview people from a broad spectrum of backgrounds and experiences in multiple cities.
I proposed a simple website built on the Wordpress platform. We began with initial sketches with imagery of folksy values and roadside vistas and easy access to the three most recent (cities) posts on the homepage:

The client chose to keep large images of the American road as the headers of each page. She also wanted her SoundCloud interviews to appear on the home page as the priority pieces of content:
Upon site launch, I ensure that my client has complete access to the Wordpress dashboard, understands how to modify content, embed audio or video clips, and add posts for optimizing SEO.
The client actively markets this site through her social media channels.
At the moment, Laura's most recent entry is from April of 2021 because of changes in her travel plans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She hopes to resume the project before the upcoming 2024 elections.
