In order to introduce the gastrointestinal tract to first-year doctoral students in school of veterinary medicine, the professor wanted to narrate a story of two characters who travel through the GI tract of a dog to accompany the syllabus.
The professor provided a pre-recorded narration of the adventure. The storyboard and character drawings were completed in 1 month.
Because of the short deadline before the start of classes, the characters of Fertie the ferret, and Fern the dog, would have to remain as simplified as possible.
Each background was painted in watercolor and scanned. The characters were drawn in Illustrator and set up in Photoshop layers for import into Premiere Pro.
